Our Story
JSRM Massage was founded in 2019 with Jo working from a basement room in her home clinic. The Covid lockdown had resulted in her being made redundant from her role in Purchasing and Supply Chain. A sign to Jo, that something else was about to take over.
Already having a big interest in Sports Massage Therapy and having completed 3 courses at Night School in this, Jo took the opportunity to turn the interest into a full-time business.
Working self-employed and studying hard for three years to obtain a degree was a complete change of direction, but the result is so far successful.
Since its inception, JSRM Massage continuously grows, and what started off as a lounge room conversation has now become a Massage Therapy business and a Wellness Centre.
Optimum Wellness Centre opened in June 2023. The Wellness Centre currently operates with Allied Health Therapists in the fields of Chiropractic, Specialist Headache Physiotherapy, Midwifery, Counselling, Life Coaching, Lymphoedema and Oncology Specific Massage and Scar Release Therapy. We are looking forward to offering Accupuncture in the coming months.

Bachelor in Therapeutic and Sports Massage (B.TSM)
A bachelor-qualified soft tissue massage therapist having completed a degree in Sports and Therapeutic Massage, incorporating Neuromuscular Therapy.
During your appointment, a detailed intake interview will be conducted to understand any medical conditions and medications, pain, symptoms and postures experienced and how these may affect your massage therapy session. Postural Analysis, Range of Movement Testing and Orthopaedic Testing are used in Remedial Massage Therapy to pinpoint muscular soreness, weakness, and postural imbalance.
It may take more than a single session to get to the root cause of your aches and pains, but the outcome will most likely be better than the onset. If not, I will know where to refer you.
JSRM Massage is registered with Massage New Zealand and also offers Southern Cross Easy Claim to clients with the Body Care Module of their Private Health Insurance Policy.
JSRM Massage at Optimum Wellness Centre
We are now located at Optimum Wellness Centre (OWC), 278 Beach Road, Campbells Bay on Auckland’s North Shore, 20 minutes north of Auckland City, close to Albany, Browns Bay, Mairangi Bay, Takapuna, Castor Bay and Glenfield.
A professional clinic space that offers Remedial and Sports Massage, Chiropractic Care, Specialist Headache Care, Midwifery, Counselling, Life Coaching, Lymphoedema and Oncology Massage, Scar Release Therapy and with Acupuncture coming soon, we have a great offering to keep you well.
Partnering further with other specialists outside of our centre, we have a strong referral network to get you where you need to be.
