Remedial Massage Therapy

Remedial Massage aims to work through specific postural problems, especially in areas that are painful, not fully functioning, or need some rehabilitation or recovery. Examples of conditions that can be improved with remedial Massage are

  1. Muscular tension and tightness in specific areas of the body, due to things like desk based work.

  2. Chronic pain or discomfort due to poor posture or muscle imbalances.

  3. Limited range of motion in joints caused by muscular restrictions such as Frozen Shoulder.

  4. Headaches or migraines stemming from neck and shoulder tension.

  5. Stress and anxiety relief through targeted massage techniques.

  6. Sports-related injuries or muscle fatigue that need focused treatment.

  7. Repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) from overuse of certain muscle groups.

  8. Postural issues leading to discomfort or reduced mobility.

  9. General muscle stiffness or soreness from physical activity or sedentary lifestyle.

These sessions are designed to assess posture, measure range of movement, pain levels and test for muscle imbalances and weakness, then we work through the issues with massage therapy for functional improvement.

Improvements are measured using specific outcome measurements and results are recorded to monitor improvements. The assessment can take around 15 - 20 minutes.

The massage therapy session will focus on the area of dysfunction and aims to progress the functionality session on session. Assessments may performed each session, but will be quicker as we work through the process and see improvements. If you have any questions about these sessions, please contact Jo to discuss further.
